Stall holder Meeting - Yay Team !

A few weeks ago our stallholders gathered to chat about our fab little market.

Thankyou to those who attended - it was very much appreciated.

On the agenda was the role of Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House in relation to the

Made 'n Thornbury Craft Market, 2012 market dates and taking the market forward.

Being creative women, lots of  creative ideas were put forward,

particuarly in regard to advertising oppurtunities.

We have established a
facebook page

a profile on The Market Roll
we are listed on Market Angel
and just last week, we've had a review of the market on Weekend Notes
(thankyou Miss Haberdash for organising this)
We also have a gret article with photo coming up in the Melbourne Times Weekly
(thankyou Luna for the tip on this one!)

All of these sites work best with input from us as stallholders, so please feel free to share the market, post about the market and publicise the market where you can.
And of course you can't go wrong with a good letter box drop.......
we always have market fliers at the house so please call in and deliver them to your school, cafe, library,
bus stop, letterboxes, local shops and anywhere else you can think of.

We's also love to see the market in the local school newsletters,
if you are a mum or teacher that get our market some coverage - please let us know!

Some things we plan to do for upcoming markets :
A  raffle for hamper of goodies donated by stallholders
A mailing list  to keep our stallholders and market goers up to date
Competitions on our Facebook page and here on the blog
A stallholder TEAM to oversee the running of the market on market days

It was great to see so many stallholders gathered to discuss the market.
We know that to make the most of the market,
we need to promote it.

If anyone has any other ideas,
or would to become part of our stallholder TEAM
please contact Trisha or Deanne.

Thanks again to those stallholders who came along,

and look forward to seeing you all at the next market on October 15th.

"Hear ye, hear ye !"

"The term "Posting A Notice" comes from the act of the town crier, who having read his message to the townspeople, would attach it to the door post of the local inn." courtesy of Wikipedia

But in today's modern times we POST online without as much fanfare. And which 'local inn' would I post  my message to??? Most likely the local formerly known as The Bender Bar, but too many pints of the local brew and this blogger doesn't make alot sense......

So....."hear ye, hear ye"..........market stall holders!

I am here to announce our very first  Stallholder Meeting.

Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House,

Wednesday September 14th 7pm.

Light snacks provided.

We'll be discussing ways to improve the volume of customers each market attracts

and to encourage further stall holder participation in the development of the market.

RSVPs are appreciated so please comment on this blog post,

or 'like' us and RSVP on facebook.

"Come one, come all !"

See you then,
